New PUBG snow map LEAKED [ALLEGEDLY]

The new PUBG Snowmap has been leaked, allegedly. I say allegedly because this is the internet and people will go to great lengths to troll other people on the internet. That being said, it wouldn’t be the first time new PUBG content is found before it is announced by smart guys who mined the PUBG data. Now an image has appeared on Reddit that has been data mined out of PUBG. Let take a closer look at the new PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds map.

How was the new PUBG snow map data mined?

I don’t know exactly how they do it, but I can try and explain it to you in layman’s terms: People sit and take an extremely close look at the games files after each update. Noticing changes is easier when you compare it to previous versions of the game files. In this particular case, they found the below image.

How big is the new PUBG snow map?

Well, it seems like this map is also 8km x 8km, meaning the same size as Erangel or Miramar. But if you look at how much of the map is actual land, it seems like the size is more of a 6km x 6km. That means that the new PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds snow map probably is in the middle between the old maps and the Sanhok map.

A new PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds snow map, really?

Just think for a moment how interesting the addition of snow could change the overall feel of a Battle Royale game. The most glaring issue with walking through snow is that it leaves footprints. Leaving footprints makes it easier for people to find you. That could add a whole other level to the gameplay of PUBG, especially because a Battle Royale is basically a bunch of players hunting each other until only one (or one team) is left. This would also mean that the parts of the map not covered by snow will be better for moving around without being tracked by enemy players.

If you look at the northern half of the river that splits the map down the middle, it is clearly a different color when compared to the river down south. Does that mean that the northern part of the river is frozen and you would be able to run over the ice? Snow means cold and colder water temperatures. Will the colder water temperatures mean that you take some kind of damage when swimming in the freezing waters to cross the river? Will you be able to shoot through the ice or blow up the ice with a grenade, causing nearby enemies that was on the ice to fall into the cold water below?

It would also be safe to assume that the snow covered parts of the new PUBG snow map could be at a higher elevation than the parts of the map that doesn’t have any snow. There is clearly some mountains and hills on the map, but we can’t really see much yet in terms of how high these mountains might be.

Why are there no buildings on the new PUBG snow map?

Ah, don’t worry. There was another map data mined that shows that there are in fact a lot of buildings and compounds on this new PUBG snow map. That means that you will be able to loot buildings and camp corners like you always do, you dork. Here is the map with the buildings included.
