Google Workspace Pricing in South Africa

It’s been roughly a year that I have been working completely remotely. Because I don’t go into an office every day and work from anywhere in the world, I needed to find a set of cloud-based productivity tools tailored to streamline communication, enhance collaboration, and boost productivity. After doing research online I eventually found that I would go back to something I had been using for many years already working for an employer: Google Workspace. Because I found Google Workspace pricing in South Africa is quite affordable, even for a small team like mine. I decided to take the plunge.

What is Google Workspace?

Google Workspace used to be called G Suite and is a very well-known set of productivity tools that is all cloud-based. The previous two companies I worked for also made use of Google Workspace and as such I’ve been actively using Google Workspace for about 9 years now.

Benefits of Google Workspace

Improved Collaboration

I work with many copywriters, editors and clients. Sending documents back and forth via email and having a new version of the file with changes sent back was always a pain. With Google Workspace I can share the brief once it’s created with the relevant copywriter on Google Docs. Once the copywriter is down writing the content in Docs it can easily be shared with the relevant editor and me at the click of a button. Especially in a world where more and more of us are working on projects with multiple people in remote locations, collaboration can be a real pain in the butt. Google Workspace makes collaboration with multiple team members and clients easy and efficient.

Reduce the cost of Office Suite Software

Anyone who has ever had to pay for Microsoft Office will know it is far from cheap. When you have large teams the cost of buying Microsoft Office licenses for each team member can add up. Everyone in your team will not use the full Office suite. Some use it for spreadsheets, others for Word documents and sales teams like putting together a presentation. That makes paying for Office 365 seem even more costly and wasteful. With Google Workspace the pricing includes Google Sheets, Google Docs and Google Slides at no extra cost.

Google Workspace Pricing

You get access to many of the Google Workspace products, like Drive, Calendar and Gmail for free when you have a Google account. But to get the full benefits subscribe to Google Workspace. For instance, if you have a Google Workspace subscription you can use a custom email address rather than the standard @gmail.com email address. A custom email address and signature is more professional than mailing from a @gmail.com email account.

The Different Google Workspace subscription plans and their pricing

Google Workspace pricing includes more cloud storage, administration capabilities and security, as well as professional support from people trained to help you use the platform to its maximum. I signed up with a South African company for my Google Workspace needs and now I have a dedicated workspace expert that can answer my questions and solve any problems I might have.

What do Google Workspace Plans include?

Google Workspace aims to enhance productivity and collaboration by seamlessly integrating its suite of applications. Drawing from my firsthand experience, I can attest to the variety of plans available to cater to businesses of all sizes. These include options like Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, and Enterprise, ensuring that organizations can select a plan that aligns with their specific needs. Additionally, Google offers Workspace subscriptions tailored for individuals, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations.

In my experience, the Business Starter and Business Standard subscriptions provide essential productivity and collaboration features such as personalized emails, cloud storage, and robust security measures. On the other hand, the Business Plus and Enterprise subscriptions elevate the security and administration capabilities to a higher level. These advanced plans encompass features like Vault for enhanced security, sophisticated endpoint management, and eDiscovery and retention functionalities crucial for legal and compliance requirements.

The Enterprise subscription stands out with its comprehensive security, management, and compliance controls. It offers advanced features like Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (S/MIME) for email encryption, robust data loss prevention (DLP) measures, customizable data regions, and enterprise-grade endpoint management. My firsthand experience with Google Workspace has highlighted the effectiveness and versatility of these plans in meeting the diverse needs of modern businesses.

G Suite Pricing in South Africa

Because you will have to pay in US dollars or Euros, the pricing for Google Workspace in South Africa can fluctuate monthly. That is why I chose to get a South African Google Workspace expert to help me. Instead of having to get hold of Google to help me with my questions and concerns, I have a dedicated person that I can contact in South Africa to help me with any Google Workspace queries I might have. Pricing starts at just over R150 per month per user but will vary depending on the exchange rate and the service agreement you have with the company you get your Workspace from. I’m not at liberty to give my Google Workspace guy’s info out freely on the internet but feel free to contact me if you need me to pass on his information.
